Google
Google is the worldwide leader in search and search technology. Drawing
from the largest database of indexed internet information, Google has become
a household word throughout the world.
Live (previously known as
MSN Search)
Microsoft is a huge factor since it has incorporated its Internet search
engine technology right into the Windows Vista OS. This act alone threatens
to knock Google off its perch as the number one search facility as the world
upgrades to Vista. The lack of success for Vista has been Google's only
saving grace.
Yahoo Search
Yahoo not only offers a premium web directory, web community groups, chat
and media services, but also offers a large and dedicated search engine
built on its own Inktomi search technology. Yahoo will, however, give up
people's names to foreign governments in order to protect its own interests
in that country.
